Doscredobank employees took part in a tree-planting campaign in Karagachevaya Grove
A team from the Head Office and the “Berekett” branch of Doscredobank joined a large-scale environmental campaign in Karagachevaya Grove. The initiative is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility program and aims to reduce its carbon footprint.
The event was held with the support of the AUCA Center for Civic Engagement as part of the "Green Month" project.
A total of 35 tree saplings were planted:
- 5 maples
- 10 apple trees
- 10 black elderberries
- 10 red elderberries
Tree planting is more than just a contribution to urban beautification — it’s a real step in fighting climate change, reducing the urban heat island effect, and preventing soil erosion. In the context of ongoing deforestation in Bishkek, such initiatives are especially vital.
Karagachevaya Grove is a unique natural monument and the oldest man-made forest in Central Asia. We are proud to contribute to its restoration.
28,000 Trees in 5 Years: Doscredobank’s Environmental Goal
As part of the DCB GREEN sustainable development strategy and the bank’s mission to offset its own carbon emissions, Doscredobank has set an ambitious goal — to plant 28,000 trees in 5 years.
Why 28,000?
This number corresponds to the estimated volume of trees required to offset the bank’s carbon emissions based on its current operations, including energy use, transport, and office activity.
The plan is to plant 5,600 trees annually across different regions of Kyrgyzstan.
What has already been done:
— 100 oak saplings planted along Erkindik Alley
— Over 3,000 trees planted in mountainous regions
— Regular participation of staff in citywide and national greening initiatives
